US History: Grade 8: Summer Course
This course consists of early American history and geography designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of the following topics: the growth of democracy, causes of the Revolutionary War, the American Revolution, the Constitutional Convention, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the origins of political parties, the growth of Federalism, the War of 1812, the Era of Good Feelings, the Age of Jackson, the impact of advancements in transportation, and the Industrial Revolution. Students will develop a cultural understanding and raise awareness of the responsibilities of good citizenship. In addition, the course emphasizes the growth and development of critical thinking skills, specifically in the area of analyzing primary and secondary sources.
Live virtual instruction: face to face online instruction in real time. Instructor is a state certified Teacher of Social Studies.
IOE is Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools accredited.
60 hour course : 3 hours per day / 5 weekdays per week / 4 weeks
