IOE -- DEFINING ONLINE INSTRUCTION FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

IOE is defining online education in significant ways:

  • we are not packaged curricula that students wade through on their own

  • we offer “Face to Face” online instruction: certified teachers meet with students in real time

  • we are not using parents, educational coaches, or tutors to "teach" classes

  • state licensed teachers, who are certified in the content area, teach our classes

  • IOE's MSA accreditation validates the academic excellence of our e-learning program of studies

  • we archive face to face online sessions as study and review aids for homework and tests

By offering "Face to Face" online instruction, IOE established its reputation for excellence as a Supplemental Education Organization. School districts have embraced our world language programs, homebound instruction classes, full year academic courses, and summer school accelerated and remedial courses. IOE is accredited through Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. All of our instructors are state-certified, licensed teachers, who are experts in their content area.

Since 2008, IOE has helped hundreds of students meet their district metrics for promotion and graduation. Students are assigned courses within 48 hours. IOE mainstreams students in live virtual classes so the social component of learning is not compromised: they are interacting in real time, face to face, with the state certified teacher and their peers. Students do not wait for a question to be answered by email: teaching is in “real time” -- mirroring the brick and mortar environment.

IOE offers semester and full year academic courses to districts, supplementing district course catalogues, allowing districts to offer accelerated studies and world languages they could not provide due to budget restrictions and lack of qualified staff.  Students use the school’s computer lab or a personal laptop to participate in these online courses, instructed live and in real time by the state certified teacher, who logs in with them in the virtual classroom.
